In a bold move blending digital nationalism and platform loyalty, President Donald J. Trump has signed an executive order mandating that all federal employees begin using Truth Social as their primary platform for official communications — effective immediately.

The executive order, titled “Secure Truth Act of 2025,” requires that internal memos, inter-agency announcements, and certain classified briefings be posted via verified Truth Social accounts under the new .govtruth
protocol.
The White House insists this move is designed to “increase transparency, cut costs, and eliminate the deep state influence embedded in email chains.” Officials also cited “better engagement metrics” and “community interaction” as key reasons for the shift.
Internal briefing documents reviewed by C5 News suggest the administration believes Truth Social’s unique ecosystem provides a “more direct pipeline to the American public” and reduces the risk of leaks to what it labels as “hostile mainstream outlets.” The platform’s closed-loop moderation tools and analytics dashboard reportedly played a major role in the decision to mandate adoption across agencies.
“If it’s not posted, it’s not policy,” said newly appointed Chief of Social Affairs, Greg Hannity, during a Thursday press conference held inside a branded content studio at Mar-a-Lago.
📱 Truth Social Goes Institutional
Federal agencies will be assigned official handles such as:
- @FEMA_OfficialTruth
- @DeptOfAgricultureTruth
- @CIA_RealIntel
- @PentagonFactsOnly
The @WhiteHouse account, which has already amassed 6.4 million followers on Truth Social, posted within minutes of the executive order:
“This is the most honest government you’ve ever seen. #TruthOnly #DeepStateUnplugged”
🧠 Concerns from Ethics Watchdogs
Digital rights groups expressed concern over the order, arguing that Truth Social lacks encryption, public records retention, and basic spellcheck.
“This is state-sponsored posting,” said Daria Velasquez of the Internet Freedom League.
“We’ve seen rogue regimes use social media like this. Now it’s just coming with hashtags.”
A DHS employee, speaking under condition of anonymity, claimed their agency was told to “make the memes hit harder” in official bulletins.

🗞️ Internal Memo Leaked
A leaked internal memo obtained by C5 News reveals a directive encouraging agencies to:
- “Follow back verified Trump affiliates”
- “Repost presidential content with enthusiasm”
- “Phase out all Microsoft Teams meetings by July”
The Department of Energy reportedly received a strike for “low Truth engagement,” while the FDA gained praise for its viral post titled “Pfizer who?”
Despite mounting criticism, the White House appears committed to the rollout.
“It’s time the government stopped hiding behind emails,” Trump posted Thursday night.
“Now the American people can scroll through transparency like never before.”
